GarwoodGarwood is a small borough of 4,226 in between Westfield and Cranford. The abundance of businesses along North and South Ave, both of which run right through Garwood, creates a higher threat of shoplifting. Traffic violations are also fairly common along those two very busy roads. The municipal courthouse in Garwood hears, on average, 5-10 disorderly persons cases and 5-10 DWI & traffic ticket infractions weekly.
Garwood Municipal CourtThe Garwood Municipal Court handles all traffic and parking tickets issued in Garwood. If you were pulled over by police and issued a ticket for speeding, reckless driving, unsafe lane change, etc. you will have to adjudicate this in the municipal court. If you were arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) or a criminal offense such as disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple assault or other disorderly persons offenses then your case will be tried in Garwood Municipal Court. A disorderly persons offense is the least serious criminal offense in New Jersey. These offenses are not indictable and therefore will not be tried in the county superior court. A disorderly persons conviction can still result in fines, fees, surcharges, a criminal record and even jail time.
The Garwood Municipal Court is presided over by Hon. Antonio Inacio. He has 28 years of experience practicing law.
